We the UBMQ/BRANCH (Brothers Reaching out to Aspire to New Challenging Heights) were created from the hardness and oppression of society and whom seek answers to the complexities of life. We are dedicated to promoting a balanced, respectful and enrichedrelationship between college students and the community through mentorship and the empowerment of young minds to ensure that men of color will continue as highly valued and productive members of their community and the world.”
Reel Adechokan is a graduate of August Martin high school in Queens. As a scholar athlete hewas the captain of a winning football team and in class champion. Reel is the eldest child in thehousehold and is not only expected to, but takes priority in setting example for his younger siblings. Reel has done a great deal of community service in the UBMQ mentoring program and is also a leader in his church performing duties with his faith based youth programs. Reel will be a sophomore at Monroe College.
Jamieson J. Bauduy
Jamieson J. Bauduy is a graduate of Campus Magnet high school in Queens. He is an avid reader and member of the UBMQ/BRANCH. Jamie is in his final year at Queensborough Community College. He is 21 years old and has decided to concentrate in Computer Science and is expectingto enroll in Penn State University.
Michael Bauduy is a graduate of Campus Magnet high school in Queens. He remains an
active leader in the UBMQ/BRANCH but at his campus of SUNY Brockport, Michael has been
appointed Student Chairman of Homecoming activities and Resident Assistant. Michael will be entering his junior year at SUNY Brockport pursuing degrees in Political Science and Business Administration with a pre-law specialty.
John Boyce is a graduate of Campus Magnet high school in Queens. John is the creative voice behind the UBMQ/BRANCH. John is the first in his family to attend college and fully embraces he importance of that legacy. John will be entering his junior year at Lincoln University in PA with a concentration in Human Services.
Jayson Edmund is a graduate of Campus Magnet high school in Queens. Jayson is fully committed to a successful undergraduate experience. He too remains an active leader in the UBMQ/BRANCH. Jayson will be entering his junior year at CUNY Staten Island College with a concentration in theatre and drama.
Mark Murray is a graduate of August Martin high school in Queens. Mark exhibited many leadership and debate skills in his past with the UBMQ mentoring program at his former high school. Mark will be entering his sophomore year at City Tech College where he will be majoring in Information Technology.
Henry Oyo is a graduate of Campus Magnet high school in Queens. He is a champion of community service and committed to the belief of giving back. Henry will be entering his sophomore year at Hofstra University with a concentration in Political Science on a full-ride scholarship.
Jeff Oyo is a graduate of Campus Magnet high school in Queens. Jeff will be entering his senior year at SUNY Buffalo State, where he is majoring in Economics and minoring in Mathematics. He solidifies his success at his home institution by maintain a 3.64 GPA as well as his campus involvement. Mr. Oyo is a McNair Scholar; Student Ambassador; Teacher and Resident Assistant; and serves as Vice Treasurer for the Buffalo State chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers.
Curtis Whitehead graduated from August Martin high school with honors. He has a keen appreciation for the hospitality industry and will be entering his sophomore year at LaGuardia
